India Football Team Continues Its Quest For Success

India beat Kyrgyzstan in their first home game of Group A the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier held in Bengaluru on 13th June 2017.
HOW DID THE MATCH GO?
India beat Kyrgyzstan 1-0. During the first half, both the teams remained locked at 0-0. Kyrgyzstan enjoyed most of the possession in the first half but was unable to create enough chances. In the second half, India created a brilliant opportunity when Sunil Chhetri ran through the opposition’s midfield to set-up an excellent goal for India.

Both the Indian as well as Kyrgyzstan teams had recorded wins in their respective first matches. This match was crucial in deciding who would qualify as one of the top two sides in the group. India had earlier won a friendly match against Nepal which was held in Mumbai.
Kyrgyzstan, who were ranked 125th compared to India’s 132nd when the qualifiers started, have slipped to 132nd now while India has climbed to 100th.
Recent performances of the Indian football team suggests that India has a balanced team now capable of offensively banging in the goals and keeping it tight in defense.
