Google Grabs 1st Position In The BrandZ 2017 List

BrandZ, the most comprehensive study into brand value, has released its list of the of the World’s Most Valuable Brands for the year 2017.
WHO GOT THE 1ST RANK?
Google. After several years of snatching the prize from each other, Google managed to beat Apple for the 1st rank. The internet giant has extended its lead after achieving a 7% increase to $246bn, compared to Apple’s 3% rise to $235bn.
WHO ALL GOT INTO THE TOP RANKS?
When Apple slipped to the 2nd rank, Microsoft grabbed the 3rd position. Amazon and Facebook are at the 3rd and 4th positions respectively. The other most valuable brands are:
- AT&T – 6th position
- Visa- 7th position
- Tencent- 8th position
- IBM- 9th position
- McDonald’s- 10th position
DOMINATION OF BRANDS FROM VARIOUS REGIONS
Looking at brand value by location, the US is by far the biggest- 72% of the top 100 brands by value. In 2016, it was 69%. The collective brand value of brands from Europe (10%), the UK (2%) and Asia (15%) have all dropped by one percentage point since 2016.
