Drive With No Fear Of Heart Attacks!
June 15, 2017
Toyota and the researchers from the University of Michigan are working towards developing a technology that can predict if the car driver is about to get a heart attack.
A large number of traffic incidents are caused by medical conditions while driving, specifically cardiovascular events. Fellow passengers are also at risk during such events.
WHAT IS NEEDED?
The goal is to come up with a system that would predict the occurrence of adverse cardiac events in real time. The plan requires a high-quality monitoring device in the vehicle that, despite all the in-vehicle noise, could reliably register the driver’s ECG. The machine should be able to detect the smallest change in the heart’s rhythm. Such monitors are patches placed on the driver’s chest that analyze physiological data in real time.
WHEN WILL IT BE LAUNCHED?
